Muhammad Iqbal was born in Sialkot on 9 November 1877.He got his early education from Sialkot and then went to Lahore for further education. He did his higher education in Great Britain (England). Then he came back to Pakistan and served for the Muslim nation. He used is poetry to awake the Muslims against Britain brutalities. He gave Muslims the philosophy of life. He was very close friend of Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

He advised Quaid e Azam many times when Quaid e Azam needed his help. Once Quaid e Azam left the country and politics being disappointed by the muslims. It was Allama Iqbal who wrote Quaid e Azam letter and advised him to come back serve the nation because the nation needed him.

Seeing the servings and poetry of of Allama Muhammad Iqbal British Government awarded him the Title of “Sir” the great title in those days used in the world. Later on Government of Pakistan awarded him the title of Shair e Mashriq (Poet of East).

Iqbal was born on 9 November 1877 in Sialkot, within the Punjab Province of British India (now in Pakistan). He died on 21 April 1938 in Lahore, Punjab, British India. The Pakistan government officially declared him the national poet.
